What does moved wrongly mean

Have you tried increasing the moved-wrongly-threshold setting in spigot. Potentially substantially? These messages are either caused by lagging players or malicious users. Probably not going to just turn them off.

Edit: may also make the log message say which player is the culprit, just so you can do what you want with that information. Could be client lag, maliciousness, etc. Don't just instaban names. Skip to content. Star 4.

Apologies for the minor necro, but I have some information to add to this thread which I figured might be useful I hit this same problem today while porting PneumaticCraft's air cannon to 1. Worked fine if I triggered the cannon via a button, but I got the "player moved wrongly!

The reason for this is that the pressure plate's redstone signal and the resulting actions is directly triggered by entity movement, so EntityPlayerMP setPositionAndUpdate effectively ends up getting called from within Entity move.

This is sufficient to trigger the server's move validation checks, since the player has moved further than expected. I got around it with a bit of a gross hack: using reflection to set EntityMP's private invulnerableDimensionChange field to true right before calling setPositionAndUpdate - the server validation code will be ignored if this field is true. This at least has the nice side effect of being automatically switched off pretty much straight away; as soon as the server receives a CPacketConfirmTeleport packet, which happens as soon as the client gets the SPacketPlayerPosLook packet.

This doesn't sound right to me. Isn't the whole point of virtual methods that you don't have to worry about this? You can post now and register later. Kevin Reid Kevin Reid Cheers, I discovered he was using a flying mod. This fits under a problem with Minecraft, and not something Paper "should fix for me just because they can". I know it's been a while since anyone commented on this, my apologies for all the notifications to the prior commenters.

Hi, sorry to be a pain but I recently discovered that a hacked client called liquid-bounce has found a use for the "player moved wrongly! Please correct me if I am incorrect about anything or don't understand fully how this works. Skip to content. Star 4. New issue. Jump to bottom. Linked pull requests. Copy link. Am I missing something, how is everyone dealing with this?

I know. I don't see how an option to disable it for people that don't need it hurts. These messages do not "hurt". If you want to get rid of them, you can configure the logger to ignore them. You can also just run a custom Log4J config thats configured to filter them too. PaperMC: Lets make a custom minecraft server that offers something spigot and vanilla can't User: Can you just turn off this annoying log message that we all know the meaning of and has been the pain point of log management on every minecraft server I have ever ran and by itself would give me a solid reason to use paperMC instead?

PaperMC: no, now go away and never speak of this again.
